Our mission for the scverse conference 2024
We aim to provide:
An opportunity to listen, learn, and share knowledge about single-cell omics data analysis and method development with a wide variety of experiences, expertise, and backgrounds to create a diverse and compelling learning opportunity.
An environment where newcomers, users, contributors, and developers can share experiences and learn from one another to solve challenging problems and grow the ecosystem.
A three-day event comprised of talks, tutorials, and discussions, bringing attendees the latest features and cutting-edge developments of the scverse ecosystem.
An accessible, community-driven conference with novice to advanced-level presentations.
A space to enable discussion and idea sharing to push our community and analytics forward and solve common challenges, fuel innovation, and build strong connections

Travel grants
Scverse is offering travel award scholarships to encourage underrepresented minorities and those from low to middle-income countries, including students, fellows, and early career investigators, to attend the meeting in Munich in September 2024.
Who qualifies? Current students and trainees. Priority is given to those who had an abstract submitted for the conference and are from low-and middle-income countries.
What is included in the scholarship? Conference registration, accommodation for the travel dates (max of 4 nights), and up to a 1000 EUR stipend for travel costs.
The support scale will be decided on an individual basis and can cover
waiving of the conference fee (300 Euro)
up to 300 Euro for destinations within a radius of up to 750 km (e.g. Germany and neighboring countries)
up to 600 Euro for destinations within a radius of 750-3,000 km (e.g. Europe)
up to 1,000 Euro for destinations >3,000 km.
All distances refer to the linear single distance between the two places. In the case of exceptionally high expenses, higher support scales can be defined individually.
Childcare support? Scverse can provide up to 100 EUR per day to support the childcare needs of participants. Please contact [email protected] to discuss your childcare needs, and we would be happy to connect you to appropriate services in the area.
Billing? Reimbursement is only possible on presentation of the original receipts and a travel report (1 page). Advance reimbursement is not possible.

Notification? The scholarship application will close on July 15th. Recipients will be notified by July 30th.

Closest Airport: Munich International Airport
Driving Directions from Munich Airport: Take the Autobahn A92 in the direction of Munich, then take the exit ‘Freising-Süd’ onto Bundesstraße B11 (direction Munich), then turn left towards ‘Forschungsinstitute’ roughly 2 km after passing Dietersheim.
Public transport from Munich: From the central station (München Hauptbahnhof), take the S-Bahn two stops to Marienplatz (in the direction of Ostbahnhof), then change to the U-Bahn line U6 and travel north to Garching-Forschungszentrum (final stop – please note: some of the U6 trains terminate before Garching-Forschungszentrum).

Hotels can be booked directly in Garching or Munich's city center. If you stay in the city center of Munich, the easiest way to reach the venue is with the subway line U6, which runs from Marienplatz to Garching every 10-20 minutes.
