The venue is on the Campus Berlin-Buch in the north-east of Berlin. The campus is well connected by S-Bahn but a little outside the city centre, so there are broadly two sensible options: stay locally in Buch (quiet and close to the venue) or stay more centrally in Berlin and commute in each morning (about 35-45 minutes door-to-door). Both work well; it mostly comes down to whether you'd rather be near the action in the evenings or near the venue.

Walking and travel times below are approximate. Please double-check current prices and availability for early September yourself, as we have not pre-booked a room block.

Staying near the venue

Staying central & commuting

Many attendees prefer to stay in central Berlin for the food, atmosphere, and choice of hotels, and commute to the venue. The campus sits on the S-Bahn S2 line, so the easiest commute is to book somewhere on or near the S2.

  • Look for hotels near S2 stations such as Friedrichstraße, Nordbahnhof, Oranienburger Straße, Brandenburger Tor, Potsdamer Platz, Gesundbrunnen, Bornholmer Straße, or Pankow, for a direct ride north toward Berlin-Buch.
  • Allow roughly 35-45 minutes door-to-door depending on where you stay, including the S2 ride and the short bus 353 connection at the end.
  • Plan exact routes and times with the BVG or VBB journey planner; search for the destination "Campus Buch".

Getting to the campus

  • Take the S-Bahn S2 (direction Bernau) to Berlin-Buch station, then bus 353 (direction "Campus Buch") to the stop on campus. Buses 150, 158, and 259 also serve the area.
  • Berlin-Buch is in fare zone B, covered by a standard Berlin AB ticket. If you stay just over the border in Brandenburg (e.g. Panketal), the local stations are in zone C, so you'll need an ABC ticket.
